Jay is a story that, to my mind, had to be told, because it contains everything BDSM means to me. The tension, the uncertainty, the growth, the exploring and respecting of limits, the balance, the elusive feeling behind the feeling, the magic, the energy, the... ultimate love.

In writing all the texts I made deliberate choices to emphasise the equilibrium, the ultimate balance within BDSM. For example, the personal chapters are written in the present tense and the fantasies in the past tense. I have also tried to portray BDSM as broadly as possible and to work in as many kinds of erotic fantasies as I could. Sometimes arousing and sometimes perhaps shocking. Thanks to the fragile story that runs through the book like a common thread, the raw words ultimately manage to keep their shine. Besides, not every fantasy is a fantasy, and fiction walks hand in hand with non-fiction.

The search described in 'Jay' is partly true. In the end - where the book ends - I immersed myself in the world of BDSM as a Femdom Mistress. In that capacity I have had a great many conversations with slaves. The fantasies were written out of their convictions and feelings, so that this book reflects the experiences and dreams of hundreds, perhaps even thousands of slaves.

My opinion

The fragile search speaks of my vulnerability. For me, that is where inner strength lies hidden. Because only the 'strongest' dare to show their 'weakness'. With my book I wanted to show how beautiful, pure, sincere and normal the world of BDSM can be, a world of apparent power differences, but where ultimately everything revolves around love and respect.
