Loosen the reins

Four Reins
Slave, kneel
and bow before me
until the ground holds you back
Replace your thoughts with my words
and leave behind the chaos of your being
Breathe deeply the emptiness of the present
and no longer concern yourself
with who you always think you must be
Celebrate the reins, my poor slave
and cherish the thought
that somewhere high above
you will come back to life
in my dance of dances
bound tight in my reins
No escape
no escape with physical strength here
where you have no say
Celebrate the bitter taste of victory
here at my cross where you are hung
and breathe in the faint air of tenderness
with which my whip will toil upon your back
Straighten that back in full glory
let the pillory stand for what it is
You see both sides
and it is the richness of balance
that you now enjoy
And with the right balance
shackles no longer need to rattle
and my whip no longer needs to strike
and the storm will subside in your head
