“A beautiful metal collar for my sub“ was written for BDSMforyou.nl by Mistress Moriah.

Whenever possible, when we are home alone or at special parties, my sub wears his collar. He was given it by me some time ago and he wears it with pride. Unfortunately, at our last party he lost a small part of his collar, so he can no longer use it. Time for a new metal collar, then!

Metal collar

Metal collar

Everyone attaches different values to a collar. For some, it is proof that he is a sub and he simply buys one himself; for others it is something you have to earn with blood, sweat and tears, and you receive it - during a ritual or not - when the Dominant thinks the time is right.

For some it is a functional item, for others it is the symbol of the relationship between sub and Dom. What value you attach to it is entirely up to you. Nothing has to, everything may. Personally, I simply find it practical when my sub wears a collar. I can easily clip his dog lead onto it, attach his cuffs to it, and because a dog tag with my name hangs from his collar, everyone knows he belongs to me. He received it without a ritual, but that doesn't make our BDSM any less intense.

New metal collar

So my sub needed a new collar and my eye fell on this metal collar. A tough-looking collar, made of metal. The collar cannot be removed by the wearer himself, but can only be opened with the Allen key that comes with it. That has pros and cons. It is a universal Allen key, so you can buy one anywhere, but if you lose it at a party, the collar can't come off either, until you manage to get hold of a new Allen key somewhere. Personally, I think it's an advantage that my sub cannot decide for himself when his collar comes off.

Just like the CB from this brand, this collar also comes in a plastic bag. Besides the collar, the bag contains the Allen key. The collar looks sturdy and fits my sub's neck perfectly. That way I can neatly put him on the lead again when we go out. At least he can't run away.

In practice

The metal collar comes packed in a transparent plastic bag. A pity, because if it had been packed in a nice box, it would have radiated more class at first sight. After all, for a great many BDSM people a collar remains a product that carries value. Something you have to earn, recognition, acknowledgement, the sealing of a bond. A special piece of jewellery, then, and special jewellery deserves to be packaged beautifully.

Packaging aside, the collar looks great. It is made of solid steel and is therefore quite heavy. It is roomy enough for the neck, cannot be taken off by the sub himself, and the ring is mounted firmly so you can also pull on it properly. In short, it is a beautiful, sturdy collar.

Handy ring

The ring can be used for all sorts of games. Think of a dog lead, bondage, nipple clamps, hanging a dog tag on it, you name it. So it's handy that the ring is there.

The Allen key has its drawbacks too. It is quite tricky to search in the dark for that tiny spot where it has to be used. Bring your reading glasses!

The metal collar is, as the name suggests, made of metal with a ring at the front. The collar comes with an Allen key that you use to open and close it. The collar is smooth, which makes it easy to keep clean.
