Bratting in a sub: you love it or you hate it. I have heard a Mistress sigh about my sub often enough: "Pfff, you'd want one like that..." while pointing at my little schlemiel. I just smile. Yes, my sub can brat, absolutely. And I love it. But I also understand that as a Mistress you may struggle with it, and that it might even make you insecure or at the very least irritated. Especially if you have a well-behaved, attentive little sub yourself. But despite all the bratting, I can say that I have that too. Because when I count to three, my sub knows full well that the limit has been reached and he will stop. Until then, though, as far as I'm concerned he has all the room he needs to test his limits...

I love brat (an ode to bratting)

And no, when I see him brat like that, I don't doubt his surrender and/or my own dominance for a single second. That is innate (even loathed for years) and I really don't need to prove it to anyone.

What is a brat?

Perhaps it's useful to explain the term "brat" first. At first glance, a brat can seem rebellious or not really obedient, but if you look more closely, you'll notice that such a person likes to test limits. This happens mostly in playful contexts. In doing so, they provoke the attention of the dominant. A brat is not unwilling, though; he simply has a different approach to reaching surrender and a freedom to move in (and to challenge). In the end, his surrender may even be more intense than that of an obedient sub, because he can only truly surrender when the other person has the mental strength to get him there. A brat doesn't just bow to anyone.

Baker Brat

Recently I got a PPIS (Potential Private Sub in Spe) and believe me, he is not one hair better than my little schlemiel. And yes, I know what I'm getting into, because I have known him for longer than just today. I have even known him longer than I have known my schlemiel. And no, I certainly don't shy away from it. Those two have found each other completely: they have formed a private group with another little sub (I'll just call him Pietje), with a view to a future Femdom dinner that they have to prepare. The mini group is called "Bakker Brat". Those two of mine do most of the talking, and the other little sub, I think, no longer dares to say anything. I understand that, with those two verbal heavyweights. You have to stand pretty firmly in your shoes for that.

Digging pits

I fear that a lot of little subs are going to have a hard time with this duo around. Because they don't shy away from digging pits (incidentally, they regularly fall into them themselves, and then I have the last laugh). Lately I regularly see my schlemiel grinning at his screen. Even though it's not exactly a high-resolution one. I enjoy it. I don't need to read everything that is discussed in that group chat (sometimes he shares a bit). Let them have their fun. I know that in the end, when I consider it important, they will really do what they have to do. And if not, I can always count to three...

Then there is also slave S, not my slave, but someone I sometimes play with because I like her (and that is, I think, mutual). She is at least as bad as those two. Yesterday I heard my schlemiel suggest: "Maybe we should invite her to "Bakker Brat" too..." to which the other replied: "She's a brat in a category of her own..." If that happens, I'm sure it will soon read: "Pietje has left the group"... Two is already difficult, but three really becomes too much.

Challenge

And yet I love it. It's precisely the bratting that keeps me alert, creative and sharp. Action, reaction, they challenge me. And that is exactly what stimulates my sadism and my enjoyment. It puts a smile on my face. It makes me cheerful; it doesn't all have to be so heavy for me. As far as I'm concerned, serious BDSM goes perfectly well hand in hand with a joke and a laugh. Laughing has just as important a function as crying. It clears the air, it relaxes, and it creates a sense of togetherness.

I like having to make an effort for something; I need that challenge. All my life I have had to fight for everything, and it hasn't made me any worse. A brat therefore suits me well (and if need be, three). The eventual surrender makes me proud and fills me with satisfaction.

Soon we have a play date together... with the theme: "A trouble shared is a trouble halved". I'm already looking forward to it! I'm picking out the nastiest clamps in advance and giving the canes and single tails an extra polish...
