“Degradation to human ashtray: can it do harm?“ was written for BDSMforyou.nl by Mistress Moriah.

The phone rings and I pick up. On the other end of the line I hear a man's voice. "Good afternoon, Mistress, do you smoke?" That one question already tells me so much, because it isn't asked out of concern for my health or any possible nuisance from smoke. I clearly have someone on the phone who would love to be used as a human ashtray.

Degradation to human ashtray

The experience

Degradation to an ashtray is part of the experience of being human furniture. It is the ultimate humiliation to be reduced to an object (objectification). On top of that, an ashtray is not just any object, but one that is used for waste. So you are actually even less than nothing. At best you are good enough as a collector of rubbish.

Serving as an ashtray has nothing to do with pain (it isn't about the fire of the cigarette), but about the deepest experience of servitude and, within that experience, wanting to feel yourself to be less than nothing. The sub gets his pleasure from the humiliation and from pleasing his Master or Mistress. You could really see it as an experience of mental pain. How much 'nothing' can you feel when you are seen only as an ashtray?

The English term 'human ashtray' is also often used for this.

Different ways

The human ashtray can be played out in different ways. He can hold up his hand, so that his hand forms the ashtray. With or without stubbing out the butt (watch out for burns). You can of course also tap the ash over his whole body. It's nice if you have rubbed oil into the skin beforehand, so the ash sticks well. Or you tap the ash of the cigarette very specifically into the sub's mouth. It all depends on what the fetish looks like. It can be very particular and differ from person to person.

It isn't necessary for the ash to actually end up in the mouth, in the hands or over the body of the sub. You can, for example, also choose to have the sub clamp an ashtray between his jaws; there are even special ashtray gags for this. It depends on what you choose or how you want to build it up. It is your game. What is important is that the sub sits snugly next to you and that you don't have to get up to get rid of your ash. After all, he is there for the Dominant's convenience.

Can swallowing cigarette ash do harm?

As with many things, it comes down to the amount. If someone swallows a small amount of cigarette ash, the risk of serious poisoning is relatively small, but it is still not healthy.

Cigarette ash contains many of the harmful chemicals present in tobacco and cigarette smoke, such as heavy metals (lead, cadmium) and carcinogenic substances. These substances can be toxic to the body. Swallowing cigarette ash can lead to irritation of the mucous membranes in the mouth, throat and stomach. This can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and stomach ache.

The risks of the human ashtray

Above I already wrote about the toxic substances in the ash of a cigarette. A little bit can't do harm (provided it isn't too often), but I would be a bit careful with it. It is certainly not healthy.

Also make sure that, when tapping the ash into the mouth, no burning parts of the cigarette damage his mouth or the cigarette. In short, do everything with care, as with so many BDSM experiences and/or forms of play!
