How realistic is a slave auction?

To answer the question “how realistic is a slave auction?” succinctly: of course it isn’t. Fortunately, the era of actual slavery is long behind us. However, it still greatly captures the imagination within the BDSM community, because I regularly receive emails from people who want to sign up for a slave auction. Even though I don’t even organize a single one – but that’s beside the point. So what does a slave auction actually mean?

Slave Auction
A slave auction is nothing more or less than a themed kinky (play) party. Simply put, slaves are auctioned off at a slave auction. This means that Mistresses and/or Masters make their subs, female slaves, and/or male slaves available to other dominants. This could be for an hour, an evening, or perhaps even a whole day at a later time. An extra slave is, of course, incredibly handy when there’s work to be done in the garden or when the house needs a thorough cleaning. So the slaves aren’t actually auctioned off, but rather loaned out to another dominant in a playful way, for shorter or longer periods. This really appeals to many people’s imagination; after all, the auctions reinforce the dominant and submissive roles. It’s so clear who is what. How intense is that.
It’s high time again!
Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen as often anymore. A few years ago, I heard about it much more frequently, but things have been quiet around the slave auctions for a while now. Too bad, because it’s still such a fun theme party, and now that I’m writing about it, I’m starting to get excited again. Because isn’t it actually high time for a new auction! In my playhouse, I could use a lot of helping hands. From assisting with chores to greasing my leather whips and oiling my rope.
Inspection
A proper slave auction naturally requires a thorough inspection; the slave is examined naked. After all, the “merchandise” must be thoroughly inspected. What is such a slave actually worth? Is he handy? Is he chaste? Does he possess certain qualities? That determines whether he’s worth a dime or perhaps a quarter. So, slaves may present themselves; the Dominants present can thoroughly examine the condition of his body, and if deemed suitable, bids may be placed on him (or her). The owner may specify in advance how long the slave will be available.
Once the auction has begun, the slave is “sold” to the highest bidder. There are various roles to be filled during the slave auction: available slaves, bidding dominants, and, of course, an auctioneer.
Charity
To add an extra layer of meaning, the proceeds from the auction can potentially be donated to a charity.
