Sometimes you need a few aids to achieve something. A lubricant, for example. But there are different types of lubricant and each one has its own function. Today we are going to discuss three of them: the water-based lubricant, the silicone-based lubricant and a numbing fisting lubricant.

Glad I glide (with these lubricants)

What do you use a lubricant for?

Well, for gliding, of course, and not only because a woman isn't wet enough, but also because, for example, not all organs produce moisture, as with anal sex. And what about when you use sex toys? Then too, a lubricant can come in handy. Or as an extra with fisting, where you can never use enough lubricant anyway.

Lubricants make sex even better and more accessible. But besides sex, you can also use lubricant (the water-based version) to make your latex shine, for example!

Water-based lubricant

This is the most commonly used variety and the one you can use for most things. This lubricant is perfect for toys, penetration and oral sex. It does not irritate the vagina and is therefore perfect for sexual activities with a cock or toy.

There is, however, one drawback to this lubricant: it dries out quickly (faster than the silicone variety). So you need more of it, and often need to top up in between. Water-based lubricant works well for toys made of silicone or latex, because it does not damage those materials. This lubricant is skin-friendly (dermatologically and clinically tested) and has an optimal pH value. It is odourless and tasteless and safe to use with latex condoms.

Silicone-based lubricant

The great advantage of silicone-based lubricant is that it keeps you gliding nicely for a long time. Even during longer sessions, there is a good chance you won't need to top up in between. It is also waterproof, so it works perfectly well in the shower or bath. The lubricant can safely be used internally, because silicone molecules are too large to penetrate the body through the skin. It is odourless, colourless and dermatologically tested. This lubricant too is safe to use with all types of condoms.

Fisting lubricant

This lubricant is specially designed for fisting. There are various special lubricants on sale for this kind of play, but for this review we chose a numbing lubricant. This has the advantage that you can enjoy this intense play even more, but there is also a warning side to it. Precisely because it has a numbing effect, you may also fail to recognise certain signals from the body that might indicate that things are not going entirely well. Using this lubricant therefore also means that you must stay very alert to make sure nothing is being damaged.

Fist it gel is dermatologically tested and grease-free, which means it is safe and gentle on the skin. The gel is also compatible with latex condoms, which is not unimportant either. The gel is suitable for men and women.

Other lubricants

Besides the ones mentioned above, there are of course more lubricants you can use. For instance, there is a special lubricant for anal sex, and wonderfully scented (oil-based) lubricants that are also perfect for massages. There are stimulating lubricants that make sex (and the orgasm) even more intense, and there are even flavoured lubricants that make oral sex a little tastier.

If you would like to experience your sexuality in a more environmentally conscious way, there are also organic (even vegan) lubricants, which are also perfectly suitable if you have sensitive skin or are allergic to certain substances.
