Knife play, the thrilling knife game

“Knife play, the thrilling game with knives” was written for BDSMforyou.nl by Mistress Moriah.

When I first met my slave a few years ago, she was completely new to BDSM. She had no idea what her kinks were, nor her no-gos. And to be honest, I didn’t really ask her about it either. We just started exploring together, and I kept trying something new on her. If you build things up slowly, a lot is possible, and you give the other person the chance – in a good and gentle way – to get acquainted with a new element of play. Without any trauma if it turns out not to be “your thing” after all. So at some point, I also started experimenting with knife play with her… And that turned out to be a hit! If I really want to please her, I grab one of my knives.

What is Knife play?

Knife play is a game that involves the use of knives. In and of itself, it’s a harmless game, but if used improperly, it can also be dangerous. You can use the knife to cut clothing off someone’s body, gently trace their skin, or make small nicks. Of course, you can also literally put a knife to someone’s throat. Be careful of unexpected movements, so you don’t slip and actually injure the sub. Always ensure your equipment is clean. After all, the risk of infection is always lurking. After the play, thoroughly disinfect the cuts and the knife as well.

Knife play and mindfuck

Actually, knifeplay is part of Mindgames. You don’t even have to use the sharp knife, but it can still cause moments of shock, or sadness, fear, horror, and/or perhaps even desire. Don’t underestimate the intensity of this element. You’re penetrating deeply into someone, perhaps even literally under their skin. Try to assess your sub well in advance to gauge how they’ll react. You can also ruin the necessary trust with this.

Scarving

Scarving goes further than knife play. Knife play can still be played purely mentally, but with scarving, the knife actually penetrates the skin. Superficially or slightly deeper. Good hygiene is absolutely essential! Also take into account the healing of the wounds. The deeper the wounds, the longer the skin needs to heal.

The experience of knife play

There are all kinds of sensations that can be explored in knife play. Think of fear, excitement, pain, eroticism, psychological play, sensation, mental play, bloodplay, medical play, submission, an adrenaline rush, and for my slave, there’s also a stainless steel fetish involved. She gets incredibly turned on by a knife like that.

In addition to threatening with a knife, the sensation of cutting away clothing, scraping across the skin, or scarving, knife play can also be used very functionally in, for example, Waxplay. A layer of wax can be easily removed with a sharp knife.

Collection

I love knife play – actually, all its facets. From mental play to making small cuts in the skin. So it’s no surprise that I now have several sharp beauties in my collection.

Keep a clear head

Just like many aspects of BDSM, knife play can also go wrong. It is therefore important that you stay as focused as possible. Losing your focus for even a moment can sometimes be fatal, especially if you hit an artery. So never use intoxicants (alcohol, drugs, sedatives) during play (on either side), so you can keep your wits about you.

It goes without saying that mutual trust is a fundamental basis for playing this game together.
