Clips, an inexpensive fastener for (almost) any part of the body

“Clothespins: An Inexpensive Clamp for (Almost) Any Part of the Body” was written for BDSMforyou.nl by Mistress Moriah.

The ordinary clothespin can play a prominent role in BDSM play. It’s an inexpensive alternative to specialized nipple clamps, and they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and materials. Clothespins are functional, but they’re just as decorative. You can place them on various parts of the skin.

Where, then?

Well, think of the nipples (duh!), but also the ears, tongue, forearms, labia, scrotum – well, pretty much anywhere, really. Most areas can handle one or more clamps. And for most subs, this pain is still manageable. Okay, there are exceptions (no, I’m not naming names).

Different types

Each clothespin has its own clamping force. In my experience, the standard, old-fashioned wooden clothespin is the least painful. Next is the same model, but made of plastic. The other plastic models are usually quite intense. There are also stainless steel clothespins. Beautiful to look at, but quite pricey.

If you want to know what the clamping force is like without testing it on your own nipple, take a clothespin and place it on the skin between your index finger and thumb. This way, you can experience the clamping force in a humane way.

A clothespin that is used more often will lose some of its clamping force.

How do you place them?

Of course, anything is possible. One clip neatly on each nipple? Great! But if three fit, that’s just as fun. Or in a semicircle on the scrotum, connected by a string to form a zipper! But always keep in mind that putting them on can be painful, but taking them off… is sometimes even more intense! This has to do with the blood that can flow back. The way you remove them can also determine the intensity of the pain. Do you remove the last one first? One by one or several at once? All at once like a zipper? Or do you whip them off with a whip?

Variations

Once the clamps are in place, you can of course stare at them stoically for 15 minutes, but you can also play with them a bit. Or hold a vibrator against them. Or move them gently with your fingers. Or a little harder. You can also tie them with a string somewhere above the sub, so that tension is applied to the clamping force.

Clips and safety

Never leave the clips on for more than 15 to 20 minutes. Not anywhere. This applies to all types of clamps, not just clothespins.

Clean the clips afterward or use them only once. Keep in mind that wood is porous, so it can never be perfectly disinfected. It’s better to throw them away after use. Plastic clamps, however, can be cleaned thoroughly.

Never use alligator clips for a nipple clamp. They will literally tear the skin off.

Be careful with piercings, moles, or irregular areas of skin.

When placing on the nipple: position the clamp (perpendicularly) across the entire nipple, not just the tip.

Make sure you don’t pinch off a man’s vas deferens.

Do not place clips on the face (with the exception of the lips and tongue).

Be careful with the clitoris. It contains no less than twice as many nerve endings as an entire male erection. So please be respectful.

And of course, do not place clips on the eyelid.
