Orgasm, Sexuality & Masturbation – Theme page
This theme page is all about that intense, magical moment when your body and mind come together in a little celebration – also known as: orgasm. There are so many fun things you can do with it that it definitely deserves its own theme page. You can incorporate it into a BDSM experience and misuse… er, make use of it!

What happens in our bodies during an orgasm?
During an orgasm, various areas of the brain become active. For example, the sensory cortex (responsible for processing touch), the thalamus (a relay station), and emotional areas that give you a euphoric feeling. But that’s not all, because in the meantime, the hypothalamus becomes active. The hypothalamus releases hormones such as oxytocin and vasopressin. These hormones give you a sense of happiness and connection.
But it doesn’t stop at your head, because your body happily joins in. Your heart rate speeds up, your breathing deepens, and muscles throughout your body tense up. In men, the muscles around the penis contract, often accompanied by ejaculation. Women experience rhythmic contractions of the vaginal and pelvic floor muscles.
Differences Between Male and Female Orgasms
Although the basis for an orgasm is the same for everyone, there are still some differences between men and women:
Duration and Intensity
Female orgasms can last longer than those of men. On average, women enjoy their climax for up to twenty seconds, while for men it often lasts no longer than about three to ten seconds. Sorry, guys.
Recovery time
After an orgasm, everyone needs a moment to catch their breath. Men often experience a refractory period (a lull in libido) that can range from a few minutes to hours, depending on age and physical condition. Women, on the other hand, can experience multiple orgasms in a row without a long break. Of course, not everyone is the same, and not everyone experiences this in the same way. If your experience differs, that’s perfectly fine, of course.
Types of orgasms
Not all orgasms are the same. Here are a few options:
Clitoral orgasm
This is the result of direct stimulation of the clitoris. Think of a quick, intense burst of pleasure.
Vaginal orgasm
Although science debates its existence, some women report a deeper, more widespread sensation of pleasure through stimulation of the vaginal wall.
Mixed orgasm
Of course, one doesn’t have to exclude the other. I say that often. A combination of clitoral and vaginal stimulation can lead to a convergence of sensations.
Multiple orgasm
Some women have the ability to experience multiple orgasms in quick succession. You can imagine that the first feels different from the last.
Valley orgasm
This is a lesser-known type in which meditation and sexual stimulation are combined to achieve a prolonged and intense sensation of pleasure. Think of it as an orgasm where the energy flows through your entire body.
